Summer, 763 of the new age

Glenmore, lower regions of the ridge, West side coast.

Featuring Bahadur and Moki

Bahadur

It was early in the morning, the sun wasn't that bright yet, and coming from behind him he could actually see fairly well, despite his oakfern eyes feeling distinctly out of place here.

In amazement he walked through a field full of tall flowers. His legs almost completely disappeared in them.

He was unaware of any evil or danger, everything around him was new, exciting and beautiful.

A butterfly landed on his nose, and full of amazement Bon kept staring at it as he walked. He completely failed to notice the bulky stag ahead of him, and walked straight into his back legs.

“Oof!”

moki

Moki had been uprooting some tubers that were always good to eat, there long slender orange, red, or white flesh was crunchy and sweet. He felt the bump and it startled him a little, he had thought after all he was alone. The big red stag lowered his head and lifted his hind leg to see what had bumped him.

He smiled seeing the smallest fawnling he had ever seen this must be a oakfern he thought. He had always wanted to meet one but once his growth spurts kicked in it was obvious he was never going to be able to go down there. He chuckled softly and slowly turned around then lowered his head and gently nuzzled the little one up on to his feet again. “well hello” he said softly and watched the little one.

Bahadur

Sniffed and sneezed when he landed down there between the flowers and grass and spores. He shook his little head and stared up at the stag in front of him. He wasn't even that small himself, not for an oakfern, but compared to this big beast he felt like a newborn. But it seems he is lucky after all, as he has encountered a gentle giant. Quickly jumping back onto his feet Bon shook out his fur and lifted his head high. He spoke with confidence and pride. “Hello! I'm Bahadur, future king of Oakfern! Who are you?”

Moki

Moki chuckled and smiled at the colt. “its very nice to meet you Bahadur future king of Oakfern i am Moki herbalist and healer of Glenmore” he replied and chuckled “what brings you out into Glenmore?” he asked the colt and looked around a little, partly for other oakfern and partly for guards, he didn't want any harm to come to the young one.

Bahadur

The Colts eyes went wide, his tail swishing from side to side excitedly. Another Glenmore friend! A nice fawnling! Stupid Nazam clearly didn't know what he was talking about. They were supposed to fear these fawnlings? They were so nice!

“Healer! Does that mean you're a prince?” Clearly he knew something about Glenmore, but not much.

“I went on an adventure and Gealach led me here. Gealach must want me to see the world and make many friends! It's so pretty here and nothing has tried to eat me yet.”

Moki

Moki chuckled “no i’m no prince, i heal with herbs not magic, though i can use my magic to find the herbs and other things, in fact i was up rooting some tasty tubers a moment ago with my magic” he replied and chuckled.

“And yes it is pretty here, Gealach… who is this? is it your god? im sorry your the first Oakfern i have ever met” he sighed and replied, he had only really ever heard they were evil little cave rats that stole bad fawns at night.

He knew this was true at least about the bad fawns part his own daughter was taken and she was a very good little girl. He knew it wasn't this fawnling that took her though so he showed no malice or hate to him. He was after all about the same age as she would have been.

The thought of Marina made him sad for a moment but the chipper young colt made him smile again. “you need to be careful coming out here, not all are as accepting of outsiders as i am.” he added a moment later.

Bahadur

Bon listened with his ears perked, but he pouted when he was told this guy was just a herbalist. What's special about that? He didn't really care for herbs, a real stag doesn't need some plants to make him feel better!

“Gealach isn't just my god, he's the one true God and our spiritual leader! Where Gealach leads I will follow, no matter how hard it is!” Bon spoke with such confidence and certainty about his god and herd it was hard to understand why a colt like him would sneak out of their tunnels like this.

“I haven't met anyone bad yet! So there's bad fawnlings here too?”

Moki

Moki nodded and listened to the colt, he loved learning about others. “yes, there are some bad ones out there, some in every herd, even yours. It’s hard to know who is good and who is bad, but you have to be smart, learn to read the tones in a voice and body language. i lived for a while in Windborn, and my first mate lived here for a while with me.” he replied and smiled to the colt.

Bahadur

“Windborne..?” Bahadur wondered out loud, tilting his head so his big ears both flopped to the right. He'd never even heard of that place. Then he wagged his tail again and stepped closer to him, pushing his nose against the other in curiosity. “You can tell who's bad by looking at them? Please teach me that!”

Moki

Moki chuckled and smiled at the colt “i will teach you what i can but the rest will just come with time” he replied “the big things to look for are how the other stands, are they stiff and strutting to the world showing there better or are they loose and relaxed. it's not always true but i have found that the ones standing stiff feel like they have something to prove. And sometimes that something to prove is how much bigger and stronger they are than you. Where if they are loose and relaxed, there a bit more carefree on how others think” he replied and smiled.

Bahadur

Stared up at his giant new friend, eyes wide and tail stretched out straight and stiff behind him, all excited. “So when they're stiff they’re bad and when they're relaxed, they're good, okay! Are there other things to tell from too? Especially here, in this herd I don't know?”

Moki

Moki watched him and chuckled. “Well here it would be best to assume most are bad… very few here anymore like outsiders at all.. My mate and i and our fawns and a few others still are accepting. But if you would like to try and get to know some.. Watch them a little first and try to find the ones mostly out on the borders, but not the large stags there guards and won't hesitate to harm you. I like to show my peaceful side by the plaints i carry on me. They are herbs that i use for different things.” He smiled and replied to the young oakfern.

Bahadur

Bon nodded with enthusiasm, when he thought he knew enough he relaxed a little, and his tail continued to wag cutely behind him. “Big stags are dangerous, and fawnlings with plants tend to be nice. Okay!”

He blinked a few times, then trotted around, picking flowers from the long grass here and there, only to trot back and proudly show them to Moki. “Slee, I’mffl nice thoo!” He spoke awkwardly with his mouth full.

He quickly dropped them when the plant sap got on his tongue. “Blleeh!” He tried to spit the dirty stuff out, but it didn't work. “Buuh bleh, I don't like plants!”

Moki

Moki chuckled softly and smiled at him “yes you are nice too, here why don't i help you out a bit?” He asked and chuckled then used his magic to make a small vine braid. The vines looped back on themselves and popped up little orange trumpet looking flowers. Moki then picked it up and placed it around Bahadur’s neck “there you go, everyone loves honeysuckle.. So maybe they will love you too now” he chuckled and smiled.

Bahadur

The colt forewent his efforts to get rid of the taste lingering on his tongue. Instead watching with great fascination as the unfamiliar plant grew and twisted like it was the most common thing in the world. “Ooh, you do magic!” He smiled widely, Moki really had his attention now! He decided right at this moment he wanted to learn more about this magic, in fact he wanted to learn about all the herds magics. Such knowledge could come in handy in the future..  After all, even this friendly giant admitted that most glenmorians were scum.

When he was given the flowery necklace Bon arched his neck to sniff it, curiously giving it a lick. “Huh… This is pretty, thank you.”

His ears flopped forward as he smiled up at Moki. “Hey, could you take me to meet more nice people? If I'm with you they won't think I'm evil right? I want to learn more about this herd!”

His curiosity seemed perfectly innocent.

Moki

Moki smiled and nodded softly “i suppose i could do that, i know a few that you could probably meet that aren't to bad… even my mate may be alright with it.” He replied and smiled at him. He loved seeing the enthusiasm this colt had and the curiosity was something he wanted to feed and grow in him not smother and snuff out like some might. Moki truly believed that if the herds truly learned about each other more they could one day get along and coexist peacefully. Afterall all fawnlings to him were created equal, big and small.

Bahadur

The young buck smiled brightly and quickly nodded. “Please, I'd love to meet your friends, big Moki.”

He pranced around happily and finally grabbed a fluffy, hairy piece of Moki’s tail between his teeth. He made sure not to bite any flesh.

“Lead the way!” :D

For anyone seeing him like this, with Moki, it would be easy to assume he was just a regular glenmorian colt.

Moki

Moki chuckled watching him , he was just so adorable. He nodded and smiled “ok, how about we go see a young doe i know named Lofn” he smiled and replied and started to lead the young buck off to her meadow in the glenwood, he knew her mate would probably be there too but he was blind for one and he had been wanting to meet him for a while now.

Such a wonderfule RP thank you so very very much MiraeChaos! keep a eye out for more of this adorableness!!!
